Time to PARTY!

Hello all!

Hope you all had a good day today. Due to Hurricane Barney, it is currently very very windy here in the UK. I am just so glad that I am home already and not out there!!

Life has been so busy recently. I am regularly making cards but just find it hard to find time to blog them. It will be my youngest daughter's birthday in December. She is going to be 10 years old - going into two digits!!! OMG! Where has the time gone?! So, I am here to share the birthday invitations which I made over the weekend.
My daughter chose this Dancing Mae stamp by Some Odd Girls as the main image. Who wouldn't want to dance when there is a party!! ^_^ Actually when my daughter gave the invitations out today, one of the parents said Dancing Mae looks a bit like her! Hee hee! I guess she made a good choice of the stamp!!

The sentiment is from the Mixed Circular Sentiments by Lili of the Valley. Just love this stamp set as there are so many different messages that can be added in the centre of each circular sentiment. A very versatile set!

Here is a close up photo of the card.
As you can see I added a lot of Stickles glitter glue and Wink of Stella glitter brush to the image. Shiny image makes me happy!!

Well, I didn't make all the invitation cards towards the end. (My daughters wouldn't let me!! Ha ha!!) They love to join in and be part of it. So they coloured a majority of the images themselves (top row are coloured by my eldest daughter, the middle row are coloured by the birthday girl to be and the bottom row are coloured by me) and I stamped, cut, stuck and put the invitation cards together. Each one of them is different! I have to say they did a really good job and it was great fun crafting with them!
I am entering the card I made to the following challenges:
Hope you like these invitations and I will try to be back again very soon. Maybe share a Christmas card next? Enjoy the rest of your week.

Simon Says... Summer Vacation: Kid's Challenge (Part 3)

Hello!

Hope you all had a great weekend. It's Bank Holiday here today in the UK. The weather is awful. Raining, raining, raining!! But we managed to complete all our shopping for back to school. Not long now, school will start this Thursday and my girls are nervous and excited!! New school, new teachers and I am sure they will be just fine!

Before the summer holiday finishes, I would like to share another card from my eldest daughter- Aimee. She would like to be a part of the Summer Vacation: Kid's Challenge at Simon Says Stamp again.

So here is her card creation:
She made this card for her friend Dania's birthday. They had a great time at the party with Karaoke, Piñata and making Loom Bands! I like her choice of stamp images and those butterfly stickers. Her colouring has improved. She has started to understand shadows and light, which she clearly demonstrates in these images.
I also love how she uses slightly different shades to create the pattern on the dog. Love this card!
Thank you for stopping by and hope you will leave her an encouraging comment and suggestions. She would love to hear from you! ^_^

Simon Says... Summer Vacation: Kid's Challenge (Part 2)

Hi there!

Following my previous post here about Aimee's card entry in the Simon Says Stamp- Summer Vacation: Kid's Challenge, my little girl Jasmine wanted to join in too!

So here is her card design:
Jasmine used one of the stamps from The Greeting Farm: Miss Anya Collection set. I really like the colours she chose for the image- blue, red and yellow. (Next time, I have to try this colour combination myself!! ^_^) With a little help to cut the papers to the correct size, Jasmine, aged 8, managed to assemble the card together herself. I think this card is beautiful!

If you managed to drop by, please leave a comment for Jasmine as she will love to hear from you. It is great to encourage kids these days to craft. Also, it is something fun that me and the girls can all enjoy together this summer holiday!!

Simon Says... Summer Vacation: Kid's Challenge (Part 1)

Hello all!

It's that time of the year again! Simon Says Stamp is hosting a Summer Vacation: Kids' Challenge throughout August. This is a special challenge for young designers age between 2 and 16 inclusive.
So here is my eldest daughter Aimee's first entry:
She made this birthday card for a very good friend of hers. As Aimee is now 11 years old, I can simply leave her with all my craft items and just let her get on with her design. For this card, she used Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll stamp set. I particularly like the layout and the background paper she picked. Also, all those happy faces that she added, it just makes you smile!! ^_^

Thanks for stopping by and please do leave a message for Aimee as I am sure that she will love to hear all your suggestions and comments.

Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge... Part 3

Here is my second post for my children.

After seeing her big sister Aimee making a card for her friend, my youngest daughter Jasmine decided that she wanted to make a card too for her best friend's birthday which is in October. So here is the card she made:

She is currently mad about Moshi Monsters. Therefore, the image has to be from Moshi Monsters and I believe this is Poppet. She coloured the image by using felt tip pens and neatly cut the image out. Two different size patterned papers were used as background. Finally, she used her own collection of buttons to decorate the card.

We will also be entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge blog. Hope you will like this sweet card too!

Another Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge

Hello,

I am here to show another card from my daughter Aimee.

Aimee decided to make this birthday card for a very good friend of hers. She printed out the Hello Kitty image from the internet and coloured it in by using mummy's Copic marker pens. She decided to have a patch work background by using different patterned paper. Further, she stamped the sentiment and, of course, added the bling gem stone on the crown.

She requested for this card to be entered in the Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge blog. Hope you like this cute card!

Young Crafter - Aimee (My daughter!)

Hello~

Second post of the day! (Wow! That is something really unusual! ^_^)

This time I am here to share a card which my 10 year old daughter Aimee made for her little cousin who just turned 2. Here is the card:

Aimee likes to rummage through mummy's craft stuff. This time she found lots of die cut shapes and she decided to use these to create a cute birthday scene.

Here is a close up shot:

We also found a children's challenge blog at Simon Says:
There should be more challenge blogs for children. It is a great way to encourage young crafters to be creative! Anyone knows any other blogs like this for kids? Love to hear from you!

The craft bug is spreading...

Two posts in one night??!! That can't be right! Hee hee! free smileys (Don't forget to scroll down to see my first post!)

Yes, I think I have passed the craft bug on to my daughters, particular my eldest daughter Aimee!! Whenever I am making cards, they will always say: "Can I make a card too?" Then they will specifically ask for a particular shaped based card and off they go. Rummaging through all my stamps, paper, stickers, ribbons, they happily create cards for their friends. The funny thing is that they love using my Copic marker pens for colouring. I am sure they have discovered the "goodness" of Copic maker pens. They will say to me: "Mummy, your pens are a lot better than our felt tip pens!!"

I recently came across some challenge blogs for kids and showed them to Aimee. Straight away Aimee said: "I want to join too!! Like Mummy!" I thought that wasn't a bad idea. Something for her to do (instead of watching TV all the time) and something to challenge her creativity!! So here it is, Aimee's first card for the card challenges.

I was very impressed with this card. Apart from a little help with using the decorative scissors to cut out the text and some verbal guidance, she made this card all by herself. She has definitely caught the craft bug!!

She is entering this card to:
Unfortunately she is already asleep now. I might ask her to talk about her own cards tomorrow and will add those comments in. I am sure she will love to hear from you and give her suggestions about her card.

That's it for today. Two posts in one night! I'm sure that will not happen that often!! ^_^
