Hi there~
Now that is a first!
When I saw this week's challenge- CFC97: Chevrons & Flowers on CAS-ual Fridays blog, I knew that would be a real challenge. Not only because I am not very good at creating a Clean and Simple card but most of all I do not have any chevron stamps or papers. Then I seem to remember that you can make your own chevron borders or background papers and I found this tutorial on YouTube. By using strips of papers and clever sticking and cutting, "ta-da" I've made my very own first chevron pattern paper! Here is my card:
I've also used Sketch#22 at CAS(E) this Sketch!:
The large 3D paper flower is made specially for this card to match the chevron colours. A short strip of organza ribbon and a meadow leaf die cut shape from Poppystamps, inc. are added to the card. Here is a closer look of the flower and chevron paper:
I am quite pleased with my first attempt at making chevron pattern. I am sure chevrons will appear on my cards often now! ^_^
I hope you all have a good start to the week!
Awesome Chevron background that you created! Perfect for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge! It sure feels like Spring after seeing your lovely card, Julie!
