Thank you! (Honey Bunny from Mama Elephant)

Happy Wednesday!

Half way through the week and we are a bit closer to the weekend again! Yeah~

Yes, I am lucky enough to get hold of this Honey Bunny stamp set from Mama Elephant. (Another item ticked off from my wish list!) Thanks to Make The Day Special Stamp Store for bringing these wonderful stamps from the U.S. to the U.K. So here is a thank you card made by using this cute stamp set.

I made this card for my lovely sister-in-law to thank her for helping us to get hold of a second hand 10 foot trampoline. She and my brother-in-law also gave us a hand to put the trampoline together. In less than 2 hours, the trampoline was up and now our two girls have been on it every single day. They absolutely love it!!

With the cute bunny image, I managed to put this card together easily in no time. I will be entering this card to Make the Day Special Stamp Store Challenge 2  based on the colour palette choice below:

I love pink and grey. It is one of my favourite colour combinations! I used the heart shape stamp that comes with  the Honey Bunny stamp set and made my own background. Then, I simply stamped the bunny, the bow and the flowers on a piece of white card. Copic marker pens were used to add a touch of colour and then this was layered onto various patterned papers. Finally, I used silver ink to stamp 'Thank You!' directly on the card. (Sentiment stamp is from See D's Clear Rubber Stamp - Thank you.)

As you can see, a little bit of colouring and some shiny gems will simply make you go awwww... to this sweet bunny!

I am sure I will make more cards with this Honey Bunny stamp set. I had to show you all the cute images that are in the set. They are just adorable!

Have a nice evening! ^_^

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello there!

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day!!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I know that Mother's Day has been and gone in the UK but I also know that some people in other countries are celebrating Mother's Day today and that includes Taiwan! So Happy Mother's Day to my lovely mum!! ^_^

Here is the card for my mum which I made and posted about a week ago. I do hope it has arrived in time. (I am terrible at getting cards sent in time and I blame the UK post service for that! Ha!)

I used this pretty decoupage image from Hunkydory- Flutterbye Wishes. Then stamped the sentiment on vellum and attached it to the bottom of the card. Here is another picture from its side.

After I attached four silver corner peel offs to the card, I felt the card was in need of something more, but simple. So I decided to draw some lines, pricked and then hand stitched them by using metallic embroidery thread. I believe this not only brings out the silver embossed details on the image, it also draws your attention towards the main image. Although it was quick to put the main image together, sewing by hand does take a while! I have to say, by pricking your cards first does save a lot of energy when sewing on card. Finally, I added faux stitching around the image to complete the card.

With all this stitching, I would like to join in Virginia's View Challenge #3 - Stitching (I can't believe that I missed out the first two challenges!!) I do like my sewing and hope that my mum will like this card too!

Thank you for stopping by! ^_^
